Week #13

This week in the world of AI has been monumental, with Microsoft and Google’s announcements revolutionizing search technology as we know it. If you ever had a doubt about what advancements artificial intelligence can bring to our lives - well, say bye-bye! 🤩

Whether you're Googling for an answer or searching Bing for pizza recipes (yes that's a thing!), this week will go down as the week when search changed forever!

So much has happened this week already and it’s just Wednesday! 😂

Let’s get into it!

ThisWeek in AI - Five

1) Runway Gen-1: I’ve covered Runway Research video capabilities in this newsletter it makes a reappearance because of their recent Gen-1 announcement which is capable of changing the video style on the fly based on text or image prompts. You’ve never seen anything like it before. Click on the gif below to watch the really impressive announcement video.

2) Bing + AI: Search will never be the same again, AI has changed it forever! Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, announced the upcoming AI-powered features in Bing and Edge browser that’ll make search and web browsing experience much better, all thanks to AI. Bing will include options where AI will generate custom/interactive content based on your query and Edge will now let you quickly summarize content you are reading in the browser. Perfect!

Couple interesting quotes from the presentation this morning, that I think, set the tone for the changes we are about to see in the search space.

“It’s a new day in search, it’s a new paradigm for search, in fact the race starts today.”

Satya Nadella - Microsoft CEO

“We are going to move fast and for us everyday we want to bring out new things, and most importantly we want to have a lot of fun innovating again in search because it’s high time.”

Satya Nadella - Microsoft CEO
